Athletic Performance Center Client Ellis Wyms signs one year contract with the Minnesota Vikings

Vikings sign Wyms

092505_wyms The Vikings have signed DL Ellis Wyms to a one-year deal, agent Brian Levy said. Ellis is a client of The Athletic Performance Center.

Wyms, who had two sacks last season in Seattle, also was pursued by the Seahawks and the Tennessee Titans.

"They were the best fit," Levy said of the Vikings. "He loved the organization and the coaches, including coach (Karl) Dunbar."

It is believed Wyms received a one-year deal that pays him more than $1 million.

According to NFL.com, Wyms is 6 feet 3, 290 pounds, and he's capable of playing inside and outside. With Darrion Scott expected to sign elsewhere, Wyms may fill the void of the swing lineman who can play inside and outside.

Originally a sixth-round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2001, Wyms has 16.5 sacks, including a career-high 5.5 in 2002.

He has started nine of 79 games in his career.

Also, LB Dallas Sartz has signed a deal with the Vikings, the team's Web site reported earlier today.

By using position specific fundamental drills, vertical and broad jump training, 10, 20 and 40yd linear sprints, bench press repetition training, and the Indianapolis NFL Combine-specific agility drills, the athletes are becoming best prepared for the tests at Indy.

Here's a quote about The Athletic Performance Center at Wesley Chapel, from a former Oklahoma Sooner, Curtis Lofton:

To Whom It May Concern:

I am very excited to write a letter and share my personal experiences with the management of this facility and potential customers who are contemplating investing their personal time and financial resources into personal training sessions.  As a psychologist, I often have the privilege of assisting my clients to make gains towards their desired goals and as a result frequently witness their growth in their self-confidence.  However, as a result of graduate school I found myself placing my own self-care and physical health at the bottom of the priority list and after graduating with my doctorate I had gained a significant amount of weight.  I tried several diets, working out 4-5 days per week, and in the past worked out with personal trainers at other facilities.  However, the weight remained and I started to feel very hopeless and helpless that I could lose the weight and continued to procrastinate until I was diagnosed with type II Diabetes.  With my wife’s encouragement I attended an initial personal training session with Denny Locasio and Scott Savor and I remember feeling very embarrassed about my physical appearance at that time.

However, from the first day I met Denny and Scott I was met with enthusiasm, encouragement, and they continually inspired me to believe in myself and that I could be in great physical health.  Six months later I have lost over 53 lbs and my body fat percentage decreased from over 35% to 14% and during my recent physical examination I was informed I no longer meet criteria for type II diabetes and have discontinued medication.  I can not express in words how grateful I am to Denny and Scott and the best part is that I really enjoy working out because they keep the routines “fresh” and are always using the most current methods for strength conditioning. My friends and colleagues are frequently amazed when I tell them I only work out for 30 minutes (speed sets/resistance training) 3x per week because I know from experience I haven’t been able to achieve these results before when I was working out 4-5x per week for 1 ½ sessions.  I can promise you that their training sessions will be very efficient and save you personal time which was really important to me due to my busy schedule. I think the most important aspect of their training sessions is that they truly are “personal” and tailored to your needs, goals, and I feel fortunate to have also developed great friendships with both Denny and Scott.  Thanks again for helping me achieve my goals and to improve my self-confidence.

Sincerely,

Dr. Gregory K. Wolf
